Kemper County Lake opened in 1984. It is the second largest state fishing lake operated by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Most anglers fish for largemouth bass. The lake also has good populations of large bluegill and shellcrackers.Two fishing piers are available at the south end of the lake. The boat ramps can accommodate boats of all sizes. Sport fishing licenses are required to fish with the exception of July 4. Fishing permits are also required.
